Engaged
Couple days ago, I checked this "engaged" word in dictionary and found lots of meaning. One meaning got my attention. It was.. when two people are engaged, they have agreed to marry each other. Why am I curios about this word?? Just to let you know.. August is the month of engagement anniversary for us (me and my hubby). We almost forgot about the date because we only wrote "August 1997" on our rings! but then we agreed that our special day is 24th. Is the date right, is'nt it..honey? (don't tell me I'm not confident :D)
I am dedicated this writing for my beloved hubby who always remind me about it by setting an automatic e-mail every year since the first anniversary in 1998.
Now, I would like to recall the ceremony. We both looked younger and felt as the happiest couple in the world, esspecially my hubby who would go abroad for studying in Holland. I wore a gown with very nice red colour (what my hubby had ever seen!) and my hubby wore a nice batik shirt (which he looked more handsome on that day!). At the end of the ceremony, there was a ring on our ring finger. This is not a common ceremony in my homeland country and completely different with a western way.. which is "when the western couple is doing enggagement, usually the man will bend on knee and present the ring for the woman and a moment take on the very special place of them". The aim of our ceremony that our family can meet each other and knowing we will be a family (-in law) some day.
Four days after the ceremony was the saddest day for me, I was very very loneliness girl in the world :D. My hubby had gone to Groningen for studying. We just had been contacting by email or phone for 1.5 years. Finally in March 1999, he could come back and then we got married in April 1999.. It was one of the most wonderful day for me (and my hubby- I need his confirmation first :D).
